Spirit F2 & F1 chassis
I'd like to get a handle on the various Spirit chassis - what were the chassis numbers of and what became of the F2 chassis. We know a couple went to Jo Gartners EMCO team for conversion to BMW power, at least 1 was converted to the F1 test car which I believe actually became the first car. One also went to Tetsu Ikuzawa in Japan to be run in JPS colours, initially for Geoff Lees perhaps?
So the F2 based machines were 201c's, then the first pukka Honda F1 car was converted in 84 to Hart and briefly DFV power, with the moniker 101b/c and a revision for 85 was the 101d. There was also a plan by Spirit themselves to put Hart engines in the F2 cars for 83 and have them run by Bob Salisbury if I recall correctly. Anyone else have any input? |
