I think Sauber's improvement was with a little help from their friends (Scuderia Ferrari).
![]() I don't think Renault will offer such help, and in fact McLaren (perhaps foolishly) have not announced that they will purchase and use a Renault gearbox & rear suspension to save time and money, which IMO is a mistake. Indeed, McLaren will even use different oil and fuel than Renault, which also seems unwise for a customer team that should (IMO) be aligning as closely with their manufacturer team as possible. |
