Gardening leave is common place in any industry for people with critical knowledge. Nobody likes paying it as it is dead money, but from a corporate governance standpoint, it's a necessity.
Triple 8 have done it in the past when Burgess and Grant McPherson signed on with HRT / WAU. Same applied with David Cauchi, but because Triple 8 elected not to put him in the garden but have him serve out his notice, he was able to move to Grove without spending time in the garden, although it took a while for Triple 8 to concede. |
