Basically you have the main track (spiral) which is a 1080degree righthand turn... Or if you dont like that you have the option of using the external bit as well... This cuts out most of the outside of the spiral bit...
And the gray bits are tunnels... the track spirals down into a "pit" and climbs out inside the tunnels... Last edited by Cougar; 23 Mar 2005 at 13:15. |

I've noticed a flaw though. If you use the extension bt you can never get back to the start line |

OK so the flaw has been rectified... at first I thought I would have a parallel bit of track running along the outside of the track towards the outer tunnel exit but this seemed a bit messy.
Then one of my engineers (he was the one when designing the track at Farell who found all the WW2 underground tunnels) said we could use yet more tunnels ... This also allows us to create a complete circular grandstand which gives you a complete view of the entire spiral track. The extended bit now returns into the arena via a tunnel. Then to cope with the elevation change (as the spiral track decends down into a pit (big hole in the ground) we needed to add a corner much like you have at Loews in Monaco. This also slows the cars down and so speeds through the central tunnel complex should not be too high from whichever direction you enter it. |

If i get time i might try and get a simple/basic track working in gpl but a quick look at doing that seems like a lot of work.
I think it could be boring as "road" tracks go but you have them doing it in Nascar etc... Also it would not be completely circular and some corners will be much tighter then others... The outer ring will be one long "straight" though |
