The Glades
<<Found this one lurking at the back of my hard disk...did it ages ago, the blurb is new though.>>
The Glades Circuit was originally designed within the associated parklands of a grand Country house, known as The Glades. The House itself fell into disrepair as did the circuit. The circuit has now been given a new lease of life (which is more than can be said for the ruins of the country house), to become a top class motorsports venue, offering a 1.9 mile (3km) Club and 3.5 mile (5.5km) Long circuit layout. It's hoped the long circuit can attract FIA GT, WTCC, A1GP, type events as well has hosting "International rounds" of continental European based series such as DTM. Given the original parkland nature of the venue, there is no dramatic elevation changes however most of the GP loop is lower than the club circuit, with the drop occurring on the approach to the hairpin, and the rise on the straight up to the point where the two circuits rejoin. |

Nice, very flowing in design, and I love the flow. Great circuit.
But I woulld iron out the 90 degree corner. |

I'd leave it alone. It's weird to look at, But if you think about it, it's got a purpose.

There are a couple of 90 degree corners on the Circuit.
I'm guessing you mean either the 90 left on the Club circuit, just before the long loop rejoins, or the actual rejoin corner itself. The Club 90 left is basically in place to provide a 2nd overtaing place on the club circuit after the first turn, and before the chicane, The Rejoin corner, is a similar idea in that it is another overtaking chance. Perhaps you meant a different corner? |
