The winning Audi is driven by a Porsche factory driver, a Toyota/Lexus Super GT driver and a Ferrari test driver

On the GT rules thing, the current V8 Vantage GT2 runs a 4.5-litre V8. I've been under the impression though that their GTs were going to switch over to the V12. Their GT3 car is already in the process of switching to the V12 Vantage.
I caught about 3 hours of the race, starting just after they passed the 2-hour mark. That was definitely a fun Saturday morning/early afternoon here. Spa is always a pleasure to see a race at. I'm not going to take a wager on whether we'll ever know exactly what all was happening there in the Audi pits during the final hour. And I do think the e-tron has some understeer issues, which the setup may have exacerbated. I was happy to hear that the leading petrol cars weren't losing a huge number of laps to Audis. That was a great closer there in GT, though I was glad to see the Porsche hold on. I'm very pleased to see the Dome S102 coupe being resurrected, after what I thought was going to be its one and only appearance back at Le Mans a few years ago. That is a nice coupe (going rather quickly too), and would be even nicer without that darn fin, but still nice nonetheless. |

The vantage V12 GT3 is the GT3 version of the street vantage V12; the vantage v8 GTE is the GT2/GTE version of the street vantage V8. I think that switching for a heavier engine is useless if the poweroutput will remain under 500hp! Just try to image a 458 with a more heavier engine placed in the mid of the car! the weight ratio will become something like 35/65 or more! almost undriveable for the actual ride height and weight of the GTE cars. The same for a vantage GTE with a heavier engine on the front will mean understeer problems in every turns.

The race was quite fun for the most parts but I've got to say, the Gulf car seems to be on the wrong league... absolutely abysmal driving standards
Melo also showed further evidence on why he's not a factory driver anymore... |

Whats the conclusion on Melo? Is this a mid-life crisis? I hope he gets better because this has been an incredibly unusual past two years for a guy who has shown that he is as good as anyone in a Ferrari....

Looks like he has the same disease as Lamy, albeit with slightly different symptoms. Proper drivers that turn into a complete mess all of a sudden, very weird...

On the Dailymotion page (http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xpg...-wec-live_auto) you can see viewing statistics (the icon next the red flag). Screenshot incase the link soon no longer works:
On the onboard feed peak is at ~2000. Not sure if that is just page visits and whether it counts viewers via Audi's site. |

In baseball, they call it "the yips." An unexplainable inability to throw the ball properly and accurately any longer. It has cut careers short.

Finally caught up on the race. Well, 5:50 of it after my box dropped signal with 10mins to go!
Not really sure how much we've learnt from that ahead of Le Mans that we didn't already know. Interesting from a marketing standpoint that Audi haven't got the hybrid win. Hopefully that doesn't mean they will manipulate events at Le Mans. I'm not sure they will be able to as that race wears on. LMP2 is going to be an insane fight. Who would have thought Jota would have taken the win? In a fight with ADR-Delta at that. Roll on June I cannot wait!! |

Yep, LMP2 was pretty great and the TV showed lots of it as well.
It has the potential to be the real star of the show in June. |
