Well, we made it to the track this morning. The early load in crew set up our paddock yesterday. Today the crew is prepping the car and getting tech inspection out of the way. Tomorrow we're doing a photo contest on twitter and the winners will get a private tour of our rig with Wolf and Bryan.
The driver duo are knocking out other items today before heading over to the track. The weather is gorgeous and things seem to be going well! |

A lap of Baltimore with RLL BMW last season:
http://www.alms.com/video/bmw-m3-tak...ound-baltimore Love the onboard camera during a street race. It really gives you a sense of the tightness of the walls. |

Agreed! It does a great job of capturing the skill it takes to compete. Speaking of, we'll have an on board camera for this race as we defend our win! |

IndyCar started 30 minutes late or so. So, on-track running has been occurring. It sounds like the center of the road NEEDS more grinding at the light rail line on Pratt Street. They seem to be alright going down on the outside of the road. (Thankfully, the drivers seem to want grinding done, and DO NOT want the chicane back in there.)

Ir looks like they've gone ahead with Practice 1, which started just after 10:00 (11 Eastern), so not even 15 minutes behind schedule there.
The fastest lap last year was a 1:27.750, and at present, they're down to a 1:25.899. |

Looks like the chicane will make a comeback:

ALMS Racing @almsnotes
Our friend @BeauxBarfield just gave a track update. Going to try to grind down bump on frontstretch in lieu of chicane. #ALMS #GPoB |

I will seriously pray that the grinding works! (Lord knows, I do NOT want to see that chicane again after waiting a year for it to be GONE!)

For the GT cars at least the chicane doesn't really look safer than the jump

All that whinging about the Viper's breaks and it's still 3.6 seconds off pace of the top Corvette.

I think the worst bump is actually right where they go back on the throttle now, where you really don't want to lose traction on the rear wheels. I don't think it will work that well for Indycar either.

As you all saw, between our Practice #1 and Practice #2 today they added the chicane. It seems to be an improvement from earlier. Both Wolf and Bryan feel it was the right choice to make. We're still trying to land a screen shot of Wolf's "Dukes of Hazard" moment during the first practice.
We'll be starting 7th tomorrow, which isn't ideal, but with the longevity of our Falken tires, and Wolf and Bryan's ability to work up through the field, we're feeling pretty confident about the run tomorrow. |

ESPN3 did a good job of showing the cars leaping over the train tracks. They went to slow motion for some of the leaps. Interesting hearing the different comments from the drivers. Basically, it went from this is 'tough on the equipment' to 'these cars are tough and can take this.' I think the budgets of the teams also influence the perspective. |
