Hi, I must say I thoroughly enjoyed the Touring Cars at the Classic and will make a point of seeing them again. I hope it goes from strength to strength.
If anyone's interested, I have a few pics on Flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/2319921...7630858394956/ |

Just a thought.
The CSCC ran an invitation race for super saloons last year. This year they have a series of four races. The JD Classic is building up nicely (20 entries for Outlon Park) but these (as has been said, stop at 1985. Seems to me that if the 1986 to 2000 era was covered by this organisation, it would also garner good grids. And for the Classic, they could combine. |

Just to let everyone know, we are now aligned with the HSCC.
This means they will be handling our race entries and to race in the series you will need HSCC membership. We will also be using their Historic Passports, which will be mandatory for all car's. We plan to do at least two HSCC meeting's next season alongside the Silverstone Classic. A real privilege to be recognized and affiliated with such an institution in historic motor racing. |

That's great to hear JDog!! It'll be great to see the newer cars out at meetings. I feel this should compliment what Ken is building up with his pre85 series.

I think it is somewhat different to the By box saloons so there is no obvious clash.

It's not so much the 'clash' aspect, Peter.

Hi
Silverstone Classic is already on the calender for next year we will confirm another couple of races as soon as possible. We are really looking forward to joining the HSCC calender. I'd like to think we could get at least 10 Super Tourer's out on a regular basis alongside a top notch field of Group A and Group 2 car's. |

Pleased you asked. For me it's a matter of the status of the various series run by the HSCC. The HRSR saloons for many years has had a 40 minute race at the Oulton Park Gold Cup meeting. This year it was reduced to 20 minutes if I remember correctly and the JD Classics race had a 40 minute slot on that day. In fact they (JDC) had a 25 minute practice and a 39 minute race for 11 (eleven) cars. HRSR were alloted 15 minutes practice and 23 minutes of racing for the 38 (thirty eight) cars that turned up. Now do you see my concern?

BUT... Lets speculate that the two meetings under discussion are Brands Hatch Superprix and 3 day Oulton Park Gold Cup. This year HFO pulled out of the former (leaving a gap in schedule), and at BOTH meetings there was space on Saturday morning that was filled with untimed practice. This was criticised by some as a waste of track time. While I totally agree with your point about the HRSR race at Oulton, if the shedule permitted practice and a 40 or 2 x 20 minute races for Supertourers (or any other invited series) without losing any track time for established series, then for me it all sounds positive. My concern, Jonny, is that the dates under discussion could clash with the JDCC. If you want Gp2 and GpA (no mention on Gp1?) cars as well you will need to work with MRL on this. Oh, and just remind the odd driver about historic racing being non-contact, please...... |

We spoke to the HSCC and they were keen for us to come on board with them for next season and i must say its a real honor for Grahame to have even considered us. Surely this is a point that needs to be made to them directly? Mike The contact point has already been addressed and discussed and will be strictly policed . Im happy to be sticking with the same formula as we used at the Classic, we need to tidy up the regs a bit and will be a lot more pro active in eligibility scrutineering. We are running a series for genuine touring car's, not cars built to regulation's so i see a clear line between what we are aiming for and what other series are doing. Yes there is an overlap in eligible time periods but surely owners and drivers can decide for themselves what they'd like to do? There will be no date clashes. Hope your well mate |

I'm fine, thanks Jonny, and looking forward to a winter of building and rebuilding
I was only concerned about date clashes with JDCC- possibly the only other series genuine GpA and Gp2 cars would be likely to consider. |

Do you have a preference on the other circuits on the HSCC calender ? Also is the Silverstone Classic shown as part of the HSCC calender or in addition ? Be good to see another good grid of cars as raced at the 2012 Classic. |

Qwerty
no preference as yet just need to make a few decisions and see whats available to us. The Classic is in addition to what we are doing with the HSCC. So in total 3 races possibly 4. Cheers |
