BoP moves and evolves with the cars - its not there to keep older model cars at the front. Any suggestion of this shows a lack of understanding of the application and purpose of BoP |

but at any point we know the cars cant be perfectly equal as they have different characteristics that suit different tracks. some are better at cornering, some better tin the straight line etc And no one ever said it was intention to keep older model cars at the front, however that is the consequence |

For what the entry list is lacking in machinery variety in the GT3 class it's definitely got some strong car/driver combo's A shame Whincup is in a Pro-Am car though |

That was a pretty decent race. Audi, Ferrari, Merc all lead. Less safety cars and the opening stint by Simonsen was something to see.

For example go back and compare the 2015 entry list (variety wise) with the 2018 entry list On 2012 though, more cars would have been good, but I don't know what you mean by the significance of the Astra being 7th overall? |

im assuming they are suggesting the depth in the field was quite low compared to the current years. 6 of the 9 GT3 outright were DNF here is me comparing 2015 - 2018 (as known) A key difference being that now we have an extra race at bathurst for production cars which as we stand (october entry list) will have 56 cars in it making a total of 116 cars over the two races compared to the 2015 effort of 51 cars. yeah I can see why you are upset and think its peaked Last edited by peckstar; 22 Dec 2017 at 00:43. |

Porsche expert and respected engineer Stefan Pfeiffer will manage their campaign, while Patrick Long, Matt Campbell and David Calvert-Jones will again drive for the team in 2018. Alex Davison will be the new addition to the line-up, replacing Marc Lieb. Pity Lieb isn't returning however Davison is a steady hand to support Long and Cambell. |

You have shown your disdain for GT3 racing plenty of times, maybe if you actually do some research into the health of the category worldwide, you would see that the formula is approaching a serious crossroads |

My point was clearly missed though. Production cars had always been part of the bathurst 12 hour. 2015 was the last year where they had their own class in the 12 hour, thus we had a quite large choice of vehicles at that event. In 2016 we had an enduro event for production cars in the form of the bathurst 6 hour. and the production cars no longer had a class We now have two enduro events at the mountains providing a much more significant choice of vehicles over the two two events than we did in 2015, but significantly limiting the choices available in the 12 hour as it focuses more on Sports cars only I have never had a disdain for for GT racing, Ive just never thought it was a replacement category for Supercars and debated with those that have thought that. Its is a discusion forum after all. Not a "yes Maam GT3 is the best forum" (there is another place for those softies) But this thread is not a discussion on the quality of GT3 its a discussion on the Bathurst 12 hour which currently has GT3 as its leading category Last edited by peckstar; 22 Dec 2017 at 22:00. |

Which therefore makes the health of GT3 racing imperative to any discussion of the Bathurst 12hr while ever GT3 cars are it's centre piece

Massive story this morning with the return of a crafty overseas team and they’re set to bring international guns with them.

Is there a chance that Craft Bamboo could be returning?
