JP is a great business man - he knows how to put a deal together. Im sure he will have been working on new ways to entertain his commercial partners since March 2020. While hospitality in a trackside marquee might not be possible, there is a lot of alternative ways - Zoom Q&A sessions between races, goodie packs sent out ahead of the race weekend - heck they could even get food delivered to 'guests', webcam in the garages, etc, etc. Along with other appearances outside of the race weekends - like HARDs experience days.

Based on BMW UK Motorsport twitter I don't get the impression they have left WSR. |

That is a good sign. Let’s hope for WSR’s sake BMW stick with supporting them |

Seems a strong BTCC content there. I assume their involvement would've ended by 31 December 2020 so I hope this shows that BMW is still onboard.

Of course it is possible they have decreased their involvement. |

My fingers are crossed, webstuff on the link a few posts back looks promising in my eyes.
Also remember WSR is trousering the Morgan's money for the 3 Series they're building, so that will help I'm sure. |

I really don’t think Plato will be back and the year off will make it doubly hard.
Sponsors: how did last year go, was the car at the front. Erm... |

About the same as his final year with BMR/Subaru.
I don't see his year off as that much of an issue to potential sponsors. It might be more of a problem if he was a newbie with only a year or two behind him. |

If it was an unknown going to try for money then they’d struggle, platos a household name so I don’t see it being as much of an issue for him

Not really a Plato fan but quite pleased with that because I'd started to get a little nagging doubt that he (and PMR) wouldn't be on the grid. Not sure why just had a bad feeling..........anyway, he is going to be there and after that 100th win
Isn't there some disagreement on how many wins he currently has? 97 or 98 or something like that... |

Entirely unsurprising except a few here wre still questioning if he would be back or not. He said himself early in 2020 that he and PMR had a deal for 2021. Even before Jake Hill had resigned with MB.
There's a new Astra model launching later this year which is more than a face-lift. So I think he may carry on further into the new hybrid era. Last edited by medius; 22 Jan 2021 at 10:38. |

Brands 2001, Anthony Reid won the race but the MG wasn't eligible to score points. I think most reliable sources don't count that as a win, which puts him on 97. |

I'd take the Plato news with a pinch of salt for now. With the BTCC still operating on the unlikely assumption that they'll have full crowds from the first round in May, if/when that turns out not to be the case this entry is very much in the same position as it was last year.

Overall wins tends to exclude the Production Cars given they had a lap headstart and were basically a ‘race within a race’ - ie, they werent racing in the same class for the same championship
