At this point I'm kind of surprised that Lieb is part of the official lineup. As I've said before, he's mainly a GT guy and the fact that Manthey will be continuing into the 2014 season with two GTE-Pro cars would lead to him driving with Richard Lietz again but I'm sure they can find somebody else. Klaus Bachler maybe?
Nice to see all the drivers confirmed, nonetheless -- hopefully Lieb can translate his GT prowess into speed in prototypes. EDIT: Now looking through the Porsche factory driver thread I'd say Makowiecki has the best chance of scoring a GT ride. Last edited by Beetle; 15 Dec 2013 at 00:00. |

Interesting to see that Porsche has purchased Manthey, does that mean that they won't be allowed to compete as a 'privateer' anywhere now?

And here is a better and official one, just in case I am "blamed" for the poor quality of the previous picture (source: Porsche press release) Last edited by MyNameIsNigel; 15 Dec 2013 at 00:48. |

919 is an ambitious name for a race car. Picking a number so close to 917 gives the car big tire tracks to follow in!

From a driver height perspective, Webber, Lieb and Hartley would make an ideal driver lineup.

Good to get the driver news ticked off. Happy for Lieb who has given a lot to Porsche over the years.
Can't wait to get them on the track now and see who is the quickest over a lap and over a stint. |

Do we say nine-one-nine, or nine-nineteen?

Maybe a bit off-topic, but which car would you choose if you had to name the 919's predecessor?

I think there isn't any predecessor, and that the 919 itself is the predecessor of things yet to come.
