Another lap, another lapped car taking out a race leading car.
#60 punts the #37, which looks like it has serious transmission damage. |

There's been some boneheaded moves today. Just not smart racing from many guys that should know better.

Unusual from Richo, usually a clean driver, unlucky for the Quinns.

I mean ... it's not 2014 Spa 24 bad (because that was nightmare-inducingly bad driving), but the driving standards in this race are in danger of becoming truly farcical.

He should have left it where he reversed it!

I think Australia is similar to the US in this way, and it's due to insurance. Nobody goes on a hot track ever and that's just the way it is. I don't see slow zones ever being an option here. Not sure about the Aussies.

Yellows bring more yellows... Maybe it is a good idea to make mandatory a 1sec difference between the cars in the restarts.

I can totally understand that the point about safety vehicles and insurance to a certain point. But what about code 60 then?
It is so frustrating to see the race being reset this often. |

Well it was going yellow anyway regardless of where he parked it. Can see why he'd want to try and get it back. Would have been driveable if he could have got it turned.
Regarding the rules here - if you're flatbedded back to the paddock is that automatically day over? Or can you continue? |

Code 60 is technically still a hot track. I'm not disagreeing with you, but I don't see it changing here.

Under a Code 60, there is no catching the train. Everyone is at 60, end of. No risk of someone coming into an area too fast. |

The current rules are in place here. Local yellow until it's determined there's a danger and then full stoppage of Racing. Which I'm fine with.

the SC procedure for Bathurst is not rage-inducing such as the IMSA ones, and I haven't seen ninja safety cars either, so I'm fine with that for this race as well. What I'm not fine with is the boneheaded moves that bring out these SCs this year.

The Ams just role over and accept it - perhaps on the theory that things will even out eventually - try selling that concept to Doug Fehan or Chip Ganassi. |

Think safety cars are inevitable at Bathurst unfortunately but I agree some of the moves that are bringing out these safety cars aren't to clever however it seems like they are doing there best to get back to green asap, unlike Daytona last weekend...don't get me started on that

Yeah the IMSA procedure means class battles aren't ruined by the overall leader being between them when the caution is thrown. But then again, if they ran Code 60/FCY then it would solve it anyway.

Poor timing for a class run through coverage team! Bentley on the back of the Datsun!
