That was a very determined effort from Neel Jani - congrats to Rebellion!
I'm more than a little bemused by the relative performance of the #13. My perception is that the #12 has (generally) been outperforming the #13 for the best part of a year now. It's as if the team are running different specs and set-ups on the two cars. |

RML only did two out-in laps... trying to prove a point? And Strakka about 5 seconds behind LMP2 pole... that engine isn't strangled, it's being killed to death by the restrictors and the reduced boost.
Conspiracy theory: the LMP2 rules are the ACO catering to Nissan, who are partners of Renault, who are French? |

It seems that the performance ballancing in the LMS has worked, as the older Pescarolo has been as fast as anything out there.
Granted, it's had some work done to it (reverting back to the 5.0 Judd GV5 V10 and being allowed to run new rear body work under ACO waivers), but it's still good to see it running near the front, and if anyone deserves help in LMP1 right now from the ACO, it's Henri Pescarolo. |

Latest news from the HPD camp indicates they are not only 90bhp down but are carrying an extra 25 kilos of ballast too!Rumour's suggest the engine can produce 700bhp!
I believe the cars are fitted with ACO telemetry equipment so they can review the data after the event.Even so, it sounds like no rule review until after Spa at the earliest. Looks like the season is effectively already over for Strakka and RML.Big shame, it would have been interesting to watch the best 2 teams in LMP2 go head-to-head,with equal equipment, for the title. |

I know everyone kinda laughs at FIA/SRO and their nonsense performance balancing in GT3 & GT1, but this year I'm really not that impressed with ACO's scoreboard either. Last edited by Deleted; 2 Apr 2011 at 14:35. |

The HPD car is not a cost capped car so +20kg and about 5% smaller restrictor Also they are only aloud 2 different downforce setting and they have chosen the non Lemans setup here |

Almost correct - They are only allowed to run their LM package at LM so the standard package has to be a compromise for everywhere else - In this case Estoril, Spa, Imola and Silverstone as well as Paul Ricard.

5% smaller restrictor, but compared to the GTE rules for that engine, they're also slapped with a 18.75% reduction in boost pressure. That's probably the major issue in this case...
