Great
Expect a Ferrari domination. It may be good news for the Bridgestone teams. Other than that I see no positives in it. Last edited by neilap; 24 May 2003 at 21:22. |

Bah, the Michelins are good in full wet conditions. Good news for the car control guys. Sucks to be Ralf this season!

I think I remember a wet Monaco not that long ago. Perhaps 1999 or 2000?
Shumi walked away with it though More than likly that is what would happen again so I'm not sure if the rain would make it more exciting in that respect. |

Doesn't it seem sad that drivers like Fisichella, Coultard, Barrichello, and Ralf all have secure seats in F1, despite having had race winning cars for many more seasons than Jacques, yet failing to chalk up as many wins as he (let alone a WDC) that it is Jacques who doesn't have a drive in F1??? Sad indeed. |

Schumi's tops in the wet, yes... But Juan and Kimi are equally wicked on a soaked track. They just haven't been around long enough to build a reputation for it. Kimi showed great potential at Silverstone last year, and Brazil this year... Montoya was amazing in the chaos that was Cleveland '99 (and more or less untouchable in all wet CART races), and made a fantastic charge through the field in Brazil before crashing.
Yes, Schumi's the benchmark right now, but I don't believe he's uniquely skilled in the field anymore. Last edited by Lee Janotta; 25 May 2003 at 12:25. |

I don't think there's beena wet Moanco race sicne 1997, in which Schumacher was supreme, Williams messed up their setups because they expected the rain to be brief, Rubens took Stewart's first points by coming second, Fisichella ran second early on for Jordan, and Salo finsihed fifth without making a pitstop. Classic race.
The year before was wet/dry, even more chaotic, Olivier Panis scored a fluke win after Hill and both Benettons broke down while running 1/2/3. Schuamcher and Barrichello both crashed out on lap 1. |

Back on topic though - it would make a fantastic race if there was a spot of rain to liven things up a smidge...

I think Monaco holds the record for "the most rain affected race" in F1 history.
