HSCC - Snetterton 21/22 June
Ok, who is going to Snett this coming weekend?
Always one of the best meetings of the year at Snett. Will you be driving, spannering, marshalling or spectating? Does anyone have the two day timetable they could post? Cheers. AK |

Sadly I have a BRDC round on Saturday at Silverstone and the steering committee at hom made it clear that Snetterton was not on the agenda! Pity as there is a 1 hour "Gentlemen Drivers" style race that looks like it will be great fun. There is also a VSCC meeting at Donington the same weekend - another example of too many meetings clashing!

This weekend is another of those terrible clashes...Donington has the Ayrton Senna Memorial meeting...that should've been a joint VSCC/HSCC meeting like the one at Silverstone in May
Had to go to this one as its my little girls 4th birthday and I can convince her grandad to turn out |

Also BTCC at Rockingham, F3/GT at Combe - in total 13 different meetings ( two at Silverstone) this coming weekend throughout the UK and Ireland. 8 of those are two day meetings. Crazy!
No wonder some clubs have trouble finding marshals. I'll be at Snett anyway. |

Yes, the marshals did such a good job after such a nasty shunt. Unusual to see cars hit the pit wall at Snett and so sad to see lovely XKs badly damaged like that. I believe that all three drivers concerned were OK - I hope this is the case. The marshals were SO quick with those extinguishers!
Here is Whizzo with the XK150 he was to share. 10 mins later it was a pile of scrap before he had a chance to drive. |

Sadly the XK shunt marred the meeting a bit but even so a good HSCC event.
Highlights for me were the performances of young Edwin Jowsey. He was so quick in the BT28 on Saturday. He came right through the field to win. He has never done any karting yet looks so confident in any car he drives for his 17 years! Looks like he has been doing it for years. Here he is after his win in the DBT race with the F5000 Lola T400. |

There was also a very good field of historic saloons - here about to go out to practice.

I enjoyed the classic F Ford race on Sunday. As usual they provided some fantastic racing. Even the rain managed to hold off until the chequered went out for the final race!

Anyone have the timetable for the HSCC Superprix on 5/6th July?
Also, is there an easy way to get entry and results for these races i.e. off the web without having to request it each time from the Club? |

Hi Expat and welcome to Ten-Tenths. If you send a PM to Peter Scillitoes he will probably be able to help you with the timetable. Have you tried the website for the other info?

Sadly, we got 8 miles from Carlisle before our van broke down. 9 hours at Southwaite services before fixing it - by then it was 10pm, meaning we wouldn't have got to Snetterton until 5am - and thats if I hadn't fallen asleep on the way, so discretion took the better form of valour. A good way to waste about 600 quid! |

I am in fact a (non-racing, at least for the moment!) HSCC member but don't think you can access entry/resulst/photos (!) at the HSCC club web site, the way you can at some others.
BTW, I have a Brabham BT 21 TC that I had restored by Peter Denty and set up by his son James. I spent last summer doing track and test days (have a race license but getting some cockpit time before actually racing) at Brands, Silverstone, Goodwood and Snetterton. Picture of car and my good friend, Patrick Watts (we spent some time Saturday under the bonnet of his latest acquisition - a Ford Agnlia Super right out of Harry Potter II) chatting with Whizzo. |
