Good for Al, maybe he's the real deal.
Real happy to see Phil Giebler back in action though. Is he still with Deusenberg Racing? |

Well done Al.
Still a disappointing size of entry - and I don't think there's much talent in depth there. But you can only beat the guys who turn up - so he seems to eb doing a good job. |

Yup, still with Deusenberg. They are a two car team now it seems.
Guess theres more to Al than his name. I wonder if Little Al will push Patrick for a test for him sometime? |

I met 'just Al' in Nashville last month, and I found him to be an extremely pleasant individual. Whether or not he is the 'real deal' remains to be seen. But with 'Big Al' and 'Little Al' in his corner, he has more expert coaching than any other driver can dream of.
By the way, 'Just Al' lists Mario Andretti as his racing hero. You can't go wrong there either. 'Just Al' didn't even begin racing until he was seventeen, unlike some kids who are running karts or quarter-midgets as young as age 5. Despite his late start, he has done well... I wish him the best. |

Chesson is starting to figure out how an aero dependant car operates. He also knows to look at the right rear of the car he's racing against and see that it's blistered and knows enough to keep that car down on the lower portion of the track.

Speed TV is reporting that Al is going to cross over and do 2 races in the Toyota Atlantic series.
Could he be preparing himself for road racing? |

He did the Atlantic race at Long Beach.
I think he's sensible to get as much experience as he can - and prepare for either Champ Car or IndyCar. |

I agree with that assessment.
While a famous dad opens doors for you, often you need to be even more impressive than anyone else to convince people you are the "real deal" |
