Yes, Silverstone will supply units for Race, and are doing, but there is a limit to how many they can supply. Because of the large entry for both Sprint and Race they have to run at the same time.
Race is on the International Circuit and the Sprint runs from Chapel to Club on the Grand Prix Circuit. I have done my homework and it is not possible, safe, or practical to combine a unit to cover both events. Quote:

Sorry, MSA providing Rescue Units??? Never, License, Yes, but that is all! It is down to individual Clubs such as BARC, BRSCC, 750MC etc, and MSV as a Circuit owner with Silverstone, but the MSA - NO!!!! |

Silverstone presumably will supply two units with at least 3 crew on each for the race track... also needed is one unit for the sprint on the south circuit which has now been rectified. I believe the Mercedes Extrication units are supplied by F1 which has nothing to do with the MSA!!!

Sorry tongue in cheek, having been licenced since 1985. Last time I took my unit to Silverstone was 2003 and because they had never seen a Yellow unit at that time I was asked by a high ranking official if I had asked the MSA before bringing it out, did I have their permission to borrow it. Mind you I have witnessed all the clubs mentioned getting free vans given, us poor independents buy their cast offs. Anyone selling a 316 sprinter???

MSV supply two units but have they got any crew yet?
All F1 vehicles come with the 'Bernie Circus' except the rescue units which were supplied by Silverstone, BARC and BRSCC, these are not recognised in the FIA regulations. If all the clubs get free vans then we must be right at the end of the queue as were still waiting for ours!! |
