I think Ralf is better than Juan on his day, it's just there are about 2 of those days every 5 years!

Nicely put, Tweed. Ralf's certainly the msot inconsistant and finicky driver out there, whereas true champions can perform near the limit at any kind of track, whether the car's good or not, and regardless of what's going on or rumoured to be going on in their private lives.
Good question from Datto, it seems logical enough to look at it that way. However, would Gascoyne and Michael work together smoothly? |

Indeed. There's not much point in "my driver is better than yours". Most people can't see the wood from the trees!

Toyota technical director Mike Gascoyne also has defended the team’s decision to sign Ralf Schumacher.
Gascoyne, who worked with Schumacher at Jordan, believes the much-maligned German will thrive – if the environment is right in the team. http://www.itv-f1.com/News_Article.aspx?PO_ID=30811 |

As we'd expect him to say.
Mike seems to know how to manage drivers well. |

The question are wether Toyota going to give Ralf a supportive structure. Do they will use the Ferrari-MS structure?

I guess things will be somewhat clearer when we know the identity of both of Toyota's drivers. I don't think they will go the Ferrari route though. Ralf will be carefully scrutinized I feel, particularly from the media, and he will likely feel the pressure much more; especially coming off an injury plaqued 2003-2004. Unfortunately for him he could not just "jump back on the horse" after his latest concussion and who knows how he will react. Perhaps he feels it is important psycologically to get the green light to drive again for Williams this year and that may well be.
