Daytona Continental
How about bringing back this name for a 24hour Aco/FIA rules sportscar race that could be held later in the year(While the rolex24 is early in the year)?
It would be a great way to close out the season. |

ha great idea but it will never happen unfortunately. Daytona Speedway is ISC owned (Nascar). There won't be a real sportscar running at the track for a looonng time.
Plus there is already the Paul Revere 250 (or whatever) that is held later in the year, still for Grand Am though. |

True, you have to remember that NASCAR owns Grand Am and do not want any competition. That's one of the reason why ALMS never races on a super speedway.

plus isn't a season-closer of such length going to be a bit tight considering the late season Petit Le Mans along with the later LMES rounds? doesn't leave much closed-season time before the likes of the Sebring testing we've seen over the past couple of weeks... would be fantastic but I reckon it may be a little too tight considering teams' schedules and budgets
