GP2 Two Worlds Prediction Competition - Round 1, Paul Ricard
Welcome to the Round 1 of the 2005 GP2 Two Worlds Prediction Competition!
This time, we'll enter into Paul Ricard, the ground of the first GP2 tests. This round will be focused in the prediction of the special qualifying test scheduled for next April 4th, test whose results will define the numbers of the cars for this season. The test will define car numbers in this form: the sum of the best times of both drivers of each team will be compared with other teams and the quickest sum will reward the lowest numbers. Post your predictions for the numbers of the 8 quickest teams of this session. The deadline will be at 4:00 AM GMT Hour of the day of the test, April 4th. A detailed overview of the rules can be found here. Remember that, in this special round, you can score points for this competition in this form: 1 point awarded for each predicted team that finishes in the top 8 in the qualifying session, with one point extra if that team finishes with the numbers that you predicted. Best of all lucks for all! |

OK, so I'm guessing I can't take part...is there an "insider trading" clause in the competition?
Just wanted to clear up a few things for you so the competition runs smoothly... First up - the quali session will be on April 6th Second - the exact format is yet to be confirmed officially BUT right now this is how it'll happen... 2 half-hour qualifying sessions divided by a 15 minute gap. 12 cars will go out in the first session, 12 in the second (one from each team.) The driver from the first session can't take part in the second. So, there'll be one car from each squad in the first half hour, and one from each squad in the second. Numbers will be allocated on a team-by-team basis for the fastest times set by a team... not the sum of the quickest laps by the two drivers, no aggregate, no averages... the out-and-out quickest lap is the one that stands for the team, regardless of how slow the lap set by the second driver may be. Each driver will get two sets of tyres - 1 fresh, and 1 from the previous 2 day test (4th-5th April) And that, I think, is pretty much that. Hope we managed to clear up the procedure for you - it's subject to change, but that's how it's looking right now. By the way, we're really happy that you guys are getting so into the GP2 series already - and thank you so much for your kind mention and dedication in the initial post for the competition. We're all really looking forward to the 6th, and to the start of the season in Imola... and by the looks of things so are you. Thanks for your support GP2 |

Two things:
GP2, thanks for your corrections about the car numbers qualifying test. The deadline of this round moves then to 4:00 AM GMT of April 6th. And for people who already made the predictions, they're able to change them, of course before the deadline. |

ATTENTION: Deadline turns to its original date
ATTENTION
I realized I've made a mistake when I put the deadline on April 6th, because it gives an advantage for these who would post the two previous days, when the first tests are in charge. Then, I turned back the deadline to its original position, 4:00 AM GMT of April 4th, this time definitely. |

ok, reading autosport it seems that despite super nova boss david sears saying adam carroll was his best choice, he aint gonna make it due to money, or lack of. sad, but i think pantano is title favorite-
