F3 Euroseries 2005 - Who will win it?
Who will be the 3rd Euroseries champion, after Ryan Briscoe and Jamie Green? Will it be a Brit again, they have 3 strong drivers (and 2 title candidates) in the championship? Or will the champion come from France, Germany or even Brazil? Place your bets.
Although the grid isn't as strong as last year in my eyes, their still a lot of good drivers in the series. My personal bet would be Rossiter, he's one of my favourite drivers, together with Perera. Hamilton will be up there too I think. And I forget fast Rookie Sebastian Vettel, who won 18 out of 20 German Formula BMW races last year. Last edited by Daisy; 31 Mar 2005 at 12:08. |

Hamilton.
I see no reason why ASM won't set the pace again. |

Hamilton, quick driver - and the top team.
Should win it, if not it won't be because of the team |

the battle of the brits???
My guess would be to place your money on the 2 Brits Hamilton and Rossiter, With Hamilton winning the Title. (Like Piquet did last year in the BF3) Sorry James !!!
1. Hamilton 2. Rossiter 3. Perera Best Rookie : Di Resta Last edited by Benny_B; 31 Mar 2005 at 13:42. |

absolutely hamilton all the way. he's got the experience, and he's with the best team. and let's face it, this is the year he needs to make his mark.
but i think rossiter (i hope) and perera will make him work for the title at least. |

At Hockenheim testing today (am/pm), Rossiter was 1st and 9th; Di Resta 4th and 1st and Hamilton 8th and 3rd. See Link
Hamilton is very quick, but has additional pressure as favourite which could work against him. I'm not so sure ASM will be dominant given car/reg changes this year which has levelled the playing field. From the other pre-season testing it seems that Manor may have cracked it, so although 'near' rookie, Di Resta could surprise. Hamilton should shade it, but I think it will be close with no Jamie Green type domination. |

hamilton will do what green managed. easy championship victory down to the fact it was a pairing of best team with great driver.
the best driver in the series is hamilton. the best team in the series is asm. god, even that mercedes is probably the best engine. this is a recipe for success rossiter will come second with many a race victory as he ids a top driver. perera, di resta will also be winning races. sutil will bebefit from his machinery and di grassi will hold his own. |

congratulations, f-f, that was your first non-carroll related post...
i think hamilton's unfortunate in that he's in a car which is so good (through myth or reality) he'd be a muppet not to win. |

You have to say, don't you, that if Hamilton in the ASM doesn't win, then some very serious questions need to be answered. In fact, given previous form, if anybody even comes close to Hamilton some very serious questions will probably need to be answered.
Mind you, Sutil put himself on pole for his second ever F3 race, so given the same machinery (which he is) then he might keep Hamilton honest. |

Yoshinori Arimatsu the manager of the Toyota Young Drivers’ Programme says: “Over in Formula 3, we have placed Franck [Perera] and Kohei in different teams this year to double our efforts in the championship. As reigning rookie champion, Franck must be looking to get some race victories this year and take the drivers' title by the end of the season."

judging by testing, sutil won't be keeping hamilton honest in the slightest, he'll lead the best of the rest in about 6th or 7th though. one wonders what that second car would be capable of in the hands of someone better.

if anything needed proven about asm they only have to look at sutil last year. he was way down the grid one race, then he got an asm ride and stuck it on the pole. i think it was sutil anyway.

Can anyone explain to me how it's possible that one team (HBR) runs 2 different engines (Opel and Mercedes). I checked it on Neuhausers website an that says he will have Mercedes power for 2005. And Nunez en Götz have Opel!

The SLC wasn't quick enough according to Signature so they decided to give Moreau a Dallara car. And I think that's probably the reason why Holzer decided to give Thomas a Dallara as well. So it looks only to be a Dallara dominance in the Euroseries, shame there are no Lola's here, they look good in British F3.
