'N' and 'E' labels on car
Hi,
I've seen these decals on an F1 car for ages, but haven't got the slightest idea what they mean. The 'N'(in a white circle + red outline) is found slanted, slightly ahead of the driver's cockpit, while the 'E' is directly above the fuel cap. Can anyone explain? Thanks in advance |

These identify the positions of:
N = A button which can be pressed to place the car in neutral gear. So they can be moved by marshals etc.. E = Is the position of the button which operates the in car fire extinguisher |

I see... so how are the marshals to access these mechanisms? Open a cap and press a button?
Thanks. |

The electrical cut out switch ( kill switch) is identified by a blue triangle with a red flash in it.
The Extinguisher can be operated by a driver or marshal either by pressing a button (on electronic systems) or pulling a small handle (mechanical), this will then operate the in car system. Im not sure with the 'N' . This is usually only emplyed on cars with semi/auto gear boxes. I think this is also done using a button. |
