2008 Asian Formula 3...
I didnt realize this championship had started with a whopping 8 drivers in the field ....
Rounds 1/2 were at Sepang & Hamad Al Fardan won both races. Rounds 3/4 were a support act for the A1 GP at Zhuhai & Frederic Vervisch took both race wins.... Asian F3 points after 4 rounds... 1 Frederic Vervisch - 75 2 Hamad Al Fardan - 63 3 Rafael Suzuki - 47 4 Matt Howson - 45 5 Arturo Gonzales - 34 6 David Julian - 24 ** Next round is at Batangas, Philippines on Jan 13... |

The drivers dont look anything special. ive never even heard of any of them. However Asia F3 is pretty exciting at times!

yes maybe i will enter the last round of the championship and get the chance to test drive the Force India F1...for the winner of the serie
I cant believe that peoples do not understand they need to buid up the ladder of the asian motorsport , that would provide more drivers for the GP2 Asia They need to start from the bottom not the top... good sense... Last edited by META4; 30 Dec 2007 at 15:57. |

Asian F3 is trying now to link up with A1GP for its events in Asia, like Sepang, Zhuhai, Shanghai...etc. A1GP needs more support races which Asian F3 is happy to provide.
But I don't see Asian F3 working with GP2 Asia right now, as GP2 Asia is working closely with F1 which is very expensive for Asian F3 to do. |

... Although many European websites (which are also read by most racing drivers) mentioned the F1 test weeks before the start of the season.

The deal with Force India F1 was announced too late for drivers to find the budget AND enter a series half the globe away. |

I mean don't expect them to be a support series at many A1GP events in the near future. Definitely not Shanghai this season anyway.

I am MAYBE going to compete in AF3 next season if I can secure few sponsordeals. If both of the possible two sponsors sign, I have something like half of the amount needed.

So Mark Goddard is series boss, boss of the best team and drives under a false alias as Don Tacos?
What a dodgy bloke!!! BTW, Don Tacos are a brand of tortilla chips. He didn't pick a believable fake name! |

this godard is hurting a asia championship and hurting the reputation of asia motorsports. hamad was courageous revelling the dark side of f3 asia. hope it die soon for the good future of asia motorsport.
