We have run Rock Island the past 3 years. It is a tremendous venue (running through Downtown Rock Island ), lots of community support and good crowds, very helpful staff. We have run 3 years in our 4-stroke Animal and 2 years in TAG and it is a ball. This is one race you should run if you can.

We ran a Briggs Animal on alchohol, 2 years we ran it on a Margay Brava 4.4, this year we had that engine on a Phantom Icon which is an offset dirt chassis, made just a few changes, bolted on a set of Dunlop road race tires and it was very fast ( 5 left turns and 1 right), went from 19th to 9th in 12 laps.

This is my favorite event of the year. I highly recommend you make the trip if it's financially feasible. Here is the homepage along with the rules currently in place.

JOWT is absolutely right, go to their website and link up with Roger, he is very good about answering his e-mails, and ask him specific questions about your kart/engine combo. He, like all there, are very helpful and he will guide you, he runs the event.
