Flavio Camponeschi
Flavio Camponeschi, Tony Kart Junior driver, has been stripped of his KF2 World Cup victory and had his CIK-FIA license suspended for six months after failing a drug test at the event.
Seems to me the punishment might be a bit extreme.... |

seems to me its spot on.
A guy at that level (or any level for that matter) but especially at that level should not be screwing around with any kind of illegal drug. He may well have stopped a promising career dead in its tracks. I certainly hope he takes the 6 months to reflect on his silly mistake and realize that it is not what he needs to be doing to both race competitively or enjoy life. |

As you said, it may destroy his career....hopefully that wasn't the intention of the CIK-FIA. A six month suspension or a DQ from the race (preferably before the race), not both, should be beneficial in my mind. It's unfortunate that he made a bad decision, but hopefully this will be a wake-up call for him and others involved in the sport. |
