Walshy should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Winter Races at Anglesey - 29th November

Who is up for this one? Test Day, qually and two races for £250 or just £175 if you aren't testing.
Bargainsville, or what?

As for something different, there is a Two Driver Closed Wheel Enduro race on the card and there is already some Formula Ford interest in this. John Murphy and Jeff Hodgson are out in Jeff's Lotus 2 11, as well as their VDs in the FF races. There is an FF legend sharing with Jon Ifan Jones in an XR3i. Top secret news, but the grapevine should let you know who he is.
Stuart Jones and a lady driver will be out in a car they haven't yet sourced, while Stuart will be out in an FF as well.

I believe Diz has been trying to cajole Chiz and Neil Patten into bringing their Caterhams out to play.

And even my goodself could be out in advance of my FF comeback in 2010................... Not in an FF. Watch this space

Anyway, as this is a Formula Ford thread, who is up for the Formula Ford races this year?

Who is doing this meeting?

I know the Formula Ford traffic on here is way, way lower than it used to be, so who - of the few - is planning to delay their winter rebuild for one last outing in '09?
Or who do you know that is rumoured to be out, or definitely saying they will be out?

Zetecs are eligible for this one.

Having had a driver request, I've decided to allow Zetecs into this race.
But I don't expect many of them, if even more than this one.

It's a bit early to say. I'm sure some will be waiting to escape the WHT in one piece, whilst nobody seems to comprehend that cheques won't be banked until closing date. Entries are going to the circuit office, not me.

No this year. Creative LED Solutions are title sponsors to the whole meeting.

The circuit isn't suitable for you Kevan. It doesn't have a vast expanse of gravel trap for you to plough through.
I did enjoy your ploughing demonstration at Brooklands yesterday. The success must have been the result of all those years watching and learning from spectating at Brands.

peddle to the metal does the trick the nlift off as you depart said trap before u make a bigger ashtol outta yourself by spinning on the wet grass !
did you get a photo?
i will admit to having only ever been in gravel trap 4 times in 25 years of having race licence
first time when i was punted off at donington in 95
3 times in F3 with brake bias bar set too much to rear in 07

Not yet, but it ain't huge. There are a few promises that haven't translated into received paperwork yet. No change there then.

Weather looking OK

I don't normally believe weather forecasts, but check these two out for the weekend.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/weather/foreca...area=Rhosneigr

http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/...t_weather.html

Mind you, I checked out four weather sites yesterday and they were all equally bad. Let's hope todays versions are correct.

Well done to one and all in probably the most trying track conditions of the year. It started out dampish for qually, then got wet for the first race and very wet for the second race. The wind chill was biting, but through it all the driving skill and standards were impeccable.

We ended up with three non Kent Invitation Class cars - two FF2000 and a Zetec - plus eighteen Kent cars. A grid of twenty one for a non championship, end of season, fun meeting was superb.
In the prevailing conditions, to have only one retirement in race one and two in race two was a tremendous achievment. That's not to say there weren't plenty of spins, etc., but it was a wonderful advert for Formula Ford 1600.

I'd like to thank Barry Thompson and his Creative LED Solutions company for supporting the whole meeting.
Also, thanks must go out to BRSCC NW for all their help.
Finally words can't sum up the contribution of the Heroes in Orange. Get me standing out in the wet and cold all day? No way Jose. Well done boys and girls, you - as usual - were brilliant.

Let's do it all again next year.

Ironically, I think the weather helped and apart from the odd mishap in the Saloons the attitude was - we are here - lets get on with it. The marshals were almost upset that the Formula Fords behaved themselves!

In the first race, the 2nd place Nigel Grant, in his FF2000 Delta, enjoyed it so much, he did an extra lap!

There was no problem mixing FF2000's with 1600's.

and Simon Hadfield was pretty impressive in his Lotus 51.

Thanks To All FF1600 Drivers.

Can I just say a big thankyou to all the FF1600 racers who allowed me to race with them last weekend at Anglesey.I felt that the driving standards in appauling conditions were exceptonal. How you all drove as fast as you did on those ACB10,s with what looked to me like no grip at all I don,t know.I,ll have to borrow a 1600 for next year and have a go, probally make a complete fool of myself. Thanks again for putting up with the FF2000,s.
