Gp 5 320 in Finland
This is my first attempt at uploading an image. If it works it is a picture of 2 of the Finnish Gp 5 320`s at Kamora.

Ok I had a closer look at the pictures, it is not an original BMW Motorsport chassis. So there is no way it can be ex Stuck / Peterson 320.

Could be the same car that was entered & arrived at the OGP in August. There was some problem with the FIA papers & the car did not run. It was from France & was quite a good replica. It had Cheevers name on it.
What made you think it was Stuck/Peterson car anyway ? Alex |

Car ran at Spa RMU Classic, race #50 driven by Ch(Christian?) Velland.Looks to me like good quality replica.Unusual combination of original type rear arches and wing as per Junior cars from '77 with front air dam more like that used by turbo car of Stuck/Peterson. Mirrors are also non standard? Pictures on Belgian gyle site.Ian.

RHD?
I was flipping through some pictures and have come across a RIGHT hand drive group 5 (Jagermeister car GS tuning). Seems to be the only one? Was there any strategic reason for the change? It just seems odd to me that there was only one rhd car. (or is there more and I just haven't seen them?) Thanks, Steve

HAT Group 5 320 turbo
I've been following this thread for a couple months. My race partner used to own the HAT Group 5 car which he bought from R. Hohmann (Hohmann Auto Technique - HAT). He purchased the car in 1981 when Hohmann moved to Canada and campaigned the car at a club level here in Calgary Alberta Canada, then Edmonton/EIR, Vancouver/Westwood, and Portland Oregon USA/PIR. He eventually sold the car around 1991 or 92 to a individual in Toronto Ontario Canada. After a while we heard that another person bought it and Korman in the USA did a restoration. Afterwards the car went onto Australia. I've heard it may be in Japan now, but I'm not sure.
Though we have a number of photographs of the car they were mostly snap-shot grade with very little detail. This first shot shows one style of original livery during the era when Hohmann campaigned the car: When Hohmann moved to Calgary he had my partner repaint the car in this basic black and white scheme. Shortly there after he sold the car to my partner. My partner then repainted the car in this scheme which replicated the livery of another car competing in group 5. These last three shots were taken while my friend did a restoration to the car in the late 80s: Interesting to note these original cars had aluminum roll cages. My partner had a challenge getting it approved by the local sanctioning body |

Ian, there are a few more pictures in the folder but I was unsure where they fit regarding the timeline. I'll ask my partner for details before posting them up. I'm sure he'll be able to add some text though I may have to type it for him. Give me a couple days.

I can see why there was the confusion with the Frank Gardner Aust cars. Also note the BMW in the back ground. Same scheme. |
