I like sound of this - my guilia super is great fun but totally outclassed in the pre 65/66 races. This would be right up it's street.

The promotional blurb appears to focus on the following race as the inspiration:-
http://homepage.mac.com/frank_de_jon...s%20Hatch.html It would appear from this article that 1071 and 970 Cooper 'S' and Ford Galaxies were amongst the entries ??? Did Cooper 'S's race at Brands, is this factually correct ? Was the Galaxie considered an Homologation Special - will this be allowed to run ? Will this not outclass everything ? Will there be a list of eligable cars published at some point and some regs ? |

Insipration, yes, but don't see any suggestion that they are basing the series on that one race. It has already been confirmed in an earlier post that the 1071 S is regarded by HRDC as a homologation special, and I am sure the 970 S will be as well. I also get the drift that no V8s will be included, and although the Galaxy was introduced in 1963 it was originally running drum brakes all round. Notably in the Brands race mentioned Jack Sear's disc braked car was withdrawn after scrutineering when no proof could be produced of their homologation at that time!
That would be interesting- let Galaxies in, but with early 1963 drum braked, steel wheeled spec...... |
