It was a little 'gushing' wasn't it, but everyone is entitled to their opinion.
Are there any lap times around from this arvo? |

Just wait my friend until the ST's are running, then we will have all those knockers leaving their sinking ship ( NZV8's ) in there droves.
We will need to be careful not to get trampled to death, by all those that will be trying to get on board the new generation of STV8 racing. The ST's will give New Zealand race fans a real and long overdue shot in the arm, we have been waiting for this for far to long now. The NZV8's have had there day, along with there new RMX car, which will never make the grid. Who in their right mind would want to spend 150k plus on a car, to run it for a short time in a dying series. It's all over, but there are still some that haven't yet been able to come to terms with reality yet, they have such short memories, but we will be here to remind them. |

Back on this planet for a moment... I wonder if the kiss of death has now been publicly applied. It seems Peter McKay of the Sydney Morning Herald is a big fan of the NZ V8 SuperTourer concept & execution Here Sorry.
Mr McKay of course completely ignores the differences between the NZ & V8SA series', its sponsorship pool, its stakeholders & backers and the like. But why let the details get in the way of a V8SA bash. Meantime.. it was good stuff to see the 16 cars on track at the same time. They said it wasnt going to be happen, that it wasnt real... but it seems that it is.. and should survive & prosper. |

If you are referring to drivers here, V8ST is all but a closed shop already. With the demise of the Tier One Porsche series, all the top drivers with money have moved with their major sponsors to a new home. Personally I think Porsche read the writing on the wall. The same can be said of the majority of drivers from the NZV8 class. Throw in some Aussie V8SC steerers, and a couple of cheque book racers, and that's about it. There aren't too many vacant seats for the endurance rounds either, so I don't know where "the droves" are going.

PM you know it isn't. You rubbished Radisich as CEO when the media reported him as quoting a higher price months ago. McKay is wrong when he says "The Kiwis insist they will put a car on the track for $150,000 and run it for a season for $200,000." For a start the car is $200k plus GST plus painting, assembly etc.

for the record the complete V8ST car kit [requires assembly and painting] has increased in price from NZ$185K to NZ$193,500K as it now includes, air-jacks, and flatshift as standard. The price to paint a completed car, including one set of panels varies between NZ$8K and 10K. The cost of assembling the kit into a turn key car varies between NZ$20K and $25K depending who you use. If you are capable of doing it yourself, allow around 350 to 400 man hours. If you want to add eye candy and bling everything in sight then the 'sky's the limit' and will not make it a fraction quicker. Mark Petch. V8 Supertourers Ltd.
