The NSX mule(only used to test different suspensions) at Mid Ohio only had a NA open exhaust J35 V6 engine(Accord engine) not the the production engine or prototype engine for the NSXv2. |

The DBW is why they spent an extra day at Sebring, the performance issue was the first sign of the imbalance between the DP's and the P2's and the subsequent, still ongoing, scramble to get it right.

Pretty sure i read that they were slow at Sebring due to DbW, and their pace had picked up considerably by the Daytona test.
Whatever the exact timescale ... EMS is now using DbW, we can be sure of that. I don't want to derail the thread, which is hopefully about when we can see the next Wirth design actually on track, and also maybe an NSX for GT3 or GTLM/GTE. |

HPD is building a PWC GT class Acura.
http://www.racer.com/acura-tlx-gt-fo...rticle/329232/ The article says it will use a direct-injection, twin turbo V6 based on the production engine (3.5L). Anyone think this has anything to do with the rumored HPD DP engine? |

They might have to wait until ACO/FIA gives the new GT Rules in 2016/17. |

Yeah your right the current rules don't allow Hybrid nor AWD. Because when i heard Acura unveil the TLX GT. I was like "wheres the NSX?" I quess we all have to wait till 2016 for the rules to change :/

Uh, why is it viable? A GT500 car is in all likelihood a lot more expensive than a DP or a P2. Not that anyone anywhere has expressed any sort of interest in doing something like this though.

They probably aren't that much more than a DTM car. With more manufacturers making the same tub/chassis, it should come down in price.

HPD DP engine.
http://www.racer.com/honda-dp-engine...rticle/329548/ "Provided no delays are encountered, the DP version of the Acura MDX/RDX-derived P2 engine would account for its fifth motorsports application." |

From a Works stand point it would be viable due to the cars aesthetics. The race car would be a silhouette version of the road going Acura NSX that going to be sold in 2015. It would be great for marketing. The only series that i can think of that might allow it is TUSCC. Because its the only series that allows non ACO approved DPs to race against P2s.

@Boby_GT6262
Yeah, andI hope the 2014-spec GT500 tub is stronger. It's gonna be a lot cheaper in the long run instead of spending money on replacement parts for a DP chassis. |

Well, the cheapest simplest route is what Honda chose: A Riley DP with the 3.5 turbo V6. Pretty much what I expected.
Possible major rules revisions coming in 2016 for 2017 season. P1 and likely P2 might use pretty much the current rules until 2020, but things like integrating DTM and GT500 (and maybe DP rules, and maybe merging them into TUSC, but I don't see it) as well as GT and GT+ rules (which will definitely be used in TUSC) will all wait until then. |

I read about articles about the 2014 DTM style tube flexing under hard cornering. But i haven't seen any lately so i think they flexed that problem. To be honest I think DP's are a joke. After the all the mods (+100hp, diffuser, double wing, etc) to make them competitive it double the price of the car. That's why i'm rooting for ESM and their pair of ARX-03b's at Daytona!

Honda DP update.
When IMSA gives the ok,both Starworks and RML will use the HPD HR35tt. Also HPD(Wirth?)is working on a Honda Body(NSX or CLX?) for the DP! Could see it later in the year! Some people are not going to be happy. |
