McLaren will be represented by MRS-GT this year with two 650, the team upgrading its existing MP4-12C and buying another 650.
http://sportscar365.com/blancpain/mr...claren-effort/ Unfortunately it seems that Von Ryan Racing is no more . Immensely sad to hear although not a massive surprise with Dave Ryan moving to Manor F1. |

That McLaren project in Blancpain GT really is a mess. MRS taking over the banner doesn't fill me with confidence either. If only Von Ryan Racing would stay...

Yeah I don't have a lot of confidence in MRS either based on past experience. If only Hexis still existed...From the looks of it the McLaren needs a top team to get the best from it, sounds high maintenance as far as GT3 cars go and being an average team with a dash of luck doesn't seem to cut it... |

Awesome! Shame we have a team leaving the Ferrari fold though. Maybe the high price of the 488 put them off? |

By the way, anybody knows why the 488 has such a high price? Is it because it can easily be converted to GTE specification (saw such a thing mentioned in a DSC article)

Boutsen Ginion confirmed a new BMW M6 for the Blancpain this year!
Seems like there are rumours that Schuberth will compete the M6 in the Blancpain aswell, probably the Sprint series. |

Maybe cutbacks in Bentleys program prompted them to look elsewhere? And Liam Talbot is confirmed with Kessel again in the Am Cup |

Does seem a good appointment; I was worried that McLaren GT would start to wind down their GT3 operations in the face of the German giants' new machinery, but this gives me a bit of hope. Makes me wonder if they have any new, unannounced teams lined up, as they don't have too much obvious on the go this season, aside from the MRS and KPax programmes.
Might be the wrong thread, but is the team doing Bathurst expected to do more Australian GT? |

Id imagine there's some unannounced programmes. They just signed young drivers Alex Fontana and Straun Moore as well as the current Andrew Watson to their driver academy, no programmes for any of them announced yet. Shane Van Gisbergen is supposedly resigning for the season too as a factory driver along side Bell, Senna and Parente. Lots of drivers for only the 2 car MRS GT Campaign in Blancpain. I'd guess Kpax will take a max of one McLaren factory driver and have US drivers in their other cars. No cars announced in BGT yet since the loss of Von Ryan, so all points to more McLaren announcements soon |

Also, Tekno, the AUS team doing Bathurst are evaluating a full or partial AUS GT season with their two cars. Objective will assumedly do the same with its single car, and I guess FFF will carry on with 3 cars in GT Asia

3 Grasser Racing Lamborghinis for the full BP GT Series, first lineup is Jeroen Bleekemolen and Mirko Bortolotti.
Be good to have some serious factory lambos in the sprint series! |
