Hi Bertil,
so where are you planning to race?
In Sweden, or abroad?
In which series?
What work is remaining?

Alan Morgan, Posts on here as Cirrus (the cars he used to build were called Cirrus) now running the Historic FF2000 Association www.historicff2000.co.uk I think he ran a F3 car about that time.

I shall drive in Swedish formel 3 historic. Maybe I´ll come over to England and drive some races. The car actually belong there from the beginning. The work that i have left is the injection and the start engine.

UK races you can do
Club F3 Masters class 25 mm restrictor low ride height see www.clubf3.co.uk for dates we have many double header races snetterton is good for you near to Harwich ferry
or if you drive thru germany brands harcth for the euro tunnel/ferry at Dover
also
Monoposto racing 25 mm restrictor but 40 mm ride height
we have some libre races in Uk mostly at Lydden in Kent
also in Germany Holland they have "open " historic races but different cut off dates some are pre 81 some later like 84?
In france they have pre 85 F3 races

Reynard 863

Apologies for posting in this thread, but I didn`t want to start a new one for another 20-odd cars. Also in the name of continuity about early F3 Reynards:

I own a Reynard 863-031. The car was raced last time in early ’90s in Finnish F4 series. It has been here since 1989 and the chassis was fitted with an carburated VW 1600 engine and later 1.8. It was the first carbon F3 car in this country.

Before 031 came to Finland, I think it was raced in 1988 in Swedish F3 series by J. Rajamaki, but this is pretty much all I know. Could anybody give me any hint who were drivers/ owners in 1986-87? One clue may be a DPR sticker which still is on one of its Gotti wheels.

Thank you for your information.

What was the difference between 853 and 863? According to pictures of those Swedish cars mine has different suspension F & R, side pods, wings and roll bar. What´s left from an 853 after the factory update? For example my cars front brake calipers look old, as they are AP type CP 2361.

What parts do you got? A new Judd F3 engine and shiny new body parts would be nice.

Regards, Hans

Reynard 883

Like Kokkis, I also apologise for jumping into an 853 thread, but I have 883020 which was apparently owned by Madgwick and raced by Roland Ratzenberger. Is this correct? Thanks

883 020 was driven by Philippe Favre for Docking in 1988 British F3.

Just discovered that 863-031 was run in 1987 by Mike Rowe for Tom Waring in British series

Correct width, steering rack - REYNARD 853

Hi all,
anyone know the correct width of the steering rack for the Reynard 853?

I was able to get a rack for my car, but the steering angle seems a bit too small when I have on the car.
Is it possible that they were modified in some way......?

Any help is much appreciated.

/Christian

The rack is 390 mm long, a pic:

Is it the correct one?
Is it possible to adjust the the width by milling it?
And in that case, what is the correct width?
