SuperUtes Are Go!
Mitsubishi Triton, Mazda BT50 & Ford Ranger... already homologated... With SupaShock dampers, 20" PDW Wheels... the packing seems to be 'getting there' Be curious to see how high it is.. |

They bought into a concept that was half-baked to start with.

Can't they just put V8s in them? If they must, even a control Coyote or LSx engine for every vehicle regardless of make.
Why do they want to do diesel ute racing modelled on the Thailand Super Pickup Series? It's just horrid: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ssD_a59iys&t=317s Slow, sounds awful, puffs of smoke (which they will supposedly fix for Superutes, not sure how...). |

Lack of interest from competitors in the asset?

Those utes were supplied by a dealer, with Mitsubishi's blessing.
Hardly a works deal. |

Series debut delayed until 2018, so the 10 car grids will probably continue until then.

Without TV coverage and high profile race meetings, why would there be interest?
It should be a relatively affordable class, with above average sponsor appeal... I don't understand what has gone wrong with V8 Utes (IMO I don't think SuperDiselDualCabs will fix it!). The 86 series is popular, the 6 hour had a bumper grid... Quasi-production car racing is clearly potentially popular. |
