Maybe he runs the NSX next year?

If he was running GTD why would he be talking to manufacturers? Would be more important to be building clients and buying a car they want. The fact they mentioned no prototype options made me think they want a factory team with the money and drivers that brings along. Only thing I could think of was BMW as they open the GTLM bidding up each year apparently and they have a slight tie-in with BMW being their Formula E team for now.

Honda GTLM? That's spitballing if there ever was, but that's my best guess atm.
I doubt RLL would get dropped by BMW, but stranger things I suppose. |

Brown out, Derani in at ESM post Watkins Glen. That is a significant step up in driver talent.

I thought Brown was basically funding that team. Is he going to fun a DPi, but race in GTD?

He does fund the team. Or at least his company, Patrón does. He'll probably fund both and race where he honestly should be in GTD. It's perfect for him. |

I have heard that Ed doesn't particularly enjoy his time in a prototype. At least not as much as his time in GT.

I think Ed Brown has been quite pleased with the Patron's ROI in IMSA, so I think they are going to continue doing that. Patron sponsored LMPs before Ed raced in the series.

There's some serious behind the scenes talk that Andretti is pursuing the factory NSX GTD deal. |

How sweet would a Lexus LC 500 GTE be? It is one of the best looking cars for <$120k to hit the market in quite some time.

Even if they do, it's effectively impossible to completely put a stop to factory associations in a class like GTD. It's going to happen no matter what. So, we come back to the original question: Why would they be looking in GTD if they want a factory partnership? Because they can get one. It is of course no GUARANTEE that they're going to GTD. It's simply one possibility. And no, GTD will not be done if they let the manufacturers continue to spend money. Frankly, that's one of the things keeping the manufacturers happy despite that million-dollar extra charge. To say nothing of the teams, considering how pricey those GT3 cars tend to be. |

It sounds like Penske-Honda and Joest-Audi are going to be a reality next year. If they both pan out IMSA is going to have one heck of a P grid for 2018.

The Penske-HPD is certain, the Joest-Audi is hopeful, but I'm not gonna get too far ahead of myself with that.

All lies from the propaganda mill. Just like the Nissan DPi, these will never see the light of day and only exist in Dagys' mind.

Dagys sucks.
The Nissan DPi exists though? |
