Surely the money grab TV deal will be his legacy? Or the Bathurst 12hr clash of 2015? Or the loss of Homebush under his watch? People will come back with the usual rubbish about how the series would have died without the Foxtel money, but i'll counter with the reply that if the competitors in a series can apparently only survive on TV money handouts, then does the series really deserve to survive? |

The Ch10 TV deal certainly wasn't a money grab.
Homebush was on it's way out as it was. Mr Warburton did however, seek out a very suitable replacement. As for the 12hr, we all have our theories, but only those that know, will know how that came about, and why. It happened the one time, we all whinged, and most of us got over it and moved on. |

If Fox wanted to stump up that sort of money, then so be it. The upshot of that was saving what is basically the backbone of the motorsport industry in this country.
Teams might be struggling now, but they were much worse off only a few years ago. |

That doesn't sound healthy, what happens if the next cheque in 2021 isn't as large? |

The catagory will still need to prove it's worth going forward, regardless of who's at the helm. |

...does that mean that CAMS with the ATCC and the ARDC with Bathurst were doing a good job in 1996 then, based on what Mr Cochrane asserts the job done by JW? |

Maybe the costs of being part of the travelling circus was a bit to much. And yes CAMS would have an input as they want their star category running. |

Not happy with your remuneration?
Then line up an alternative, and do a Warburton. Worked for him, and now Lisa from Today. |
