Jeez there is some hype around Tickford Racing apparently being the ‘team to beat’ in 2018..

A pilot change can nake a difference, but there seems a little bit more missing from their program before the ‘Superteam’ proclamation is warranted..

The original T888 didn't have too many Aussies involved either.
Not sure on the situation there, maybe he owned enough and a controlling stake. Then again, him being from the old mother country, could have made things a little easier in that regard.

Would have to do some investigating to find the exact split between Holden and TW at the time.

Depends if he is kept around to be a figurehead

DJR didnt have a DJ racing in it for years

Team brock didn't have a Brock racing either

How much are Autobarn kicking in $$$ wise? Given Dumbrell is an equity partner and Autobarn is a Dumbrell owned brand.

Not much in my opinion. Using Lowndes name when he has zero equity smells of topping up the budget via merchandise sales.

Autobarn is only a partially dumbrell owned brand. chance are we all own aurtobarn through our superfunds. the owners of autobarn BAPCOR is a $1.5B business of which PD owns about $25M

Honestly saying the idea of 'Autobarn Lowndes Racing' is ridiculous. Lowndes has no equity in the team so it makes absolutely no sense.

Its a marketing term. the idea being that people will want to buy t shirts and caps with his name on it and "Lowndes" then becomes set up as a marketing term going forward

At the races there is still a Brock truck selling memorabilia . and there is always new Dick johnson stuff up for grabs

Yes but Lowndes debuted more than 20 years ago and his time in the sport is slowly ending while Scotty is relatively in the beginning. However it's true, Lowndes is a legend, no doubt.
