I totally agree.

Could also say that a WRT Audi drive opens a lot of doors that otherwise would be shut.

Cinghio44 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Motorsport.com (Italy edition)

Michelisz will leave Honda and will race for BRC/Hyundai with Gabriele Tarquini. This should be a 2 car team so...

Meanwhile it's rumored that Honda could keep Esteban Guerrieri that has announced to not continue with Citroen in STC 2000

I think they should field a third car for a young gun. Tarquini hasn't many years ahead in the championship. Michelisz should be a good addition

Hmmm.

Norbi wants to leave or JAS Honda didn't want to continue with him?

Or is it just a fake rumor?

+ Tassi Attila testing a TCR Civic today.

Would be interesting if M1Ra stays with Honda - maybe as the N1 Honda team - and Norbi leave.

If he moves to BCR but is not a Hyundai factory driver I can imagine M1RA keeps their current cars. Or will Tassi test a 2018 Civic?

Yes, the new modell.

Tassi and Colciago tested the new Civic several times.

If the M1RA will be the N1 Honda team it will make sense if Norbi race in an other team. It would be weird if he race in his own team with other top drivers. It's ok if he do this as a wild-card driver in several rounds, but it could ruin the mood inside te team.

If M1RA is the #1 Honda team it would indeed strange if he drives for a different team AND brand.

According to todays freshest rumors that would be the situation.

https://www.touringcartimes.com/2018...tch-2018-wtcr/

Norbi & Tarqini in the BCR Racing Hyundai (poor Alan Menu)

M1RA (or at least Tassi) with Honda (maybe as the prefered Honda team, maybe not) - but in late december M1RA team manager Bári Dávid said it's not sure they can get the mony for even 2 car for WTCR.

Last week I also read that Honda wants to keep Guerrieri.

https://www.touringcartimes.com/2018...-citroen-exit/

It would be strage if he continues with the Honda in the WTCR (maybe with M1RA) and Norbi leave.

As redshoes wrote, I also think - just think - JAS not allowed to enter, because they build the car. Manufacturer supported teams are allowed, but JAS is the company who actually build the TCR Honda cars.

But yes, it's possible that M1RA will not have enough money and move to an other series, and Tassi move to some other Honda backed team in WTCR, thats why he testing the new Civic.

Fechna should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
I had a couple of random thoughts about the first team and driver anouncements for WTCR:

I wonder whether VAG is pushing the AUDI brand in favour of Seat and VW or those teams just choose in regard to the tracks this year (altough there are quite a few narrow tracks that should suit the Golf best while high speed venues like Salzburgring and Monza are out).

To bad cometoyou racing has rather sub-par drivers while Comini is still looking for a drive.

I still think its a joke that the FIA doesn't grant the series World Championship status besically over BOP, while in WEC GTE all cars are boped very cleverly, with manufacturer involvement and WC status. Feels like some bad publicity considerations. Or were they affraid manufacturers could pull their brands if they dont want to commit?

This Thread should finally be renamed WTCR 2018 news and rumors.

Now we have 4 world class drivers for the season with Tarquini, Michelisz, Vernay and Shedden. Hopefully there will be ~12 of those in Marakech.

With both WRT and Comtoyou seeming to have lost interest in Comini, could it be that he's a bit harder to work with than others? Not saying that this is the case, just looking for an explanation. He has been quite outspoken in the media and on social media in the past.
