GINETTA THROW MONEY AT THEM
No-one will invest in you ever again if you don't make the case for the car |

Yeah well this is a mfg that not only was the first constructor to commit to the season, but was also boasting of three 2-car teams (at minimum) as well as of other inquiries of interest. Now here we are with their only actual customer seemingly hitting rock bottom with internal issues, and Ginetta does nothing.
If the thing is about to collapse, effectively transform it into your shadow works team then (for a while at least), like they did with LNT in LMP3 even if smaller scale. Don't let it sink The first sign of trouble (if we discount the financial situations in China) were when they had relatively little amount of private testing, didn't commit for the night running for Prologue like everyone else, had trouble getting the second chassis ready for said Prologue, now it's just escalating ever further here |

Yeah I think it has to be money related. If it was just technical then would have said something.
I also agree with Chiana, that Ginetta should use every mean possible to make sure that the car does well on track. After their poor LMP3 effort they're not exactly the flavour of the month. |

One day I wrote about doubting the arrival of the Chinese funds and I was hammered here. Without surprise I don't see any Chinese logos in the second car. Today everyone watched them failing to complete a competitive lap. Where is British motor sport press today to reveal the truth?

For what it's worth I remember ByKolles/Lotus looking like serious vaporware on multiple occasions and yet they're still around.

The problem is neither financial or technical, but a necessity of silence regarding the title sponsor. Otherwise it will be politically risky back in China and potentially detrimental to the team's future. Solution to this is on the way before Le Mans and the two Ginettas WILL BE ON THE GRID this weekend.

So economically political, politically economical
If so, why exactly couldn't they just run the cars without any sponsor logos in practice then? And if it relates to just the name of the team appearing on timing sheets and press releases... Can't you just drop the title sponsor from the team name by making inquiry to the ACO? Or would the formal proceeding take ages or something because of FIA bureaucracy... Also, isn't not making laps in the event gonna make even more headlines related for your Chinese Disaster, than it would if you run 'some' and were effectively largely ignored |

So tomorrow, if they make it to grid, will they run the opening lap at the back of the field and immediately park the cars? That, and Dragonspeed making the so-called "public drive through" (or whatever they're saying), what image will that paint... |

I don't believe that it would end like this. All the preparation for nothing?
Impossible IMO. I am pretty sure Ginetta can fund at least one car as quasi manufacturer entry. This is bad for the bussines, also ACO would not be happy if this project failed. C'mon Ginetta, you have the best looking cars in LMP1! |

I'm not sure it would be bad for business for Ginetta if the cars don't run (other than any contractual minimums) if they don't think they are going to sell any further cars for 2018, especially if Manor are confident they will be able to run at LM.

Still only one lap for each car in FP3 as well.

What's the point of those single installation laps, does it excuse them in regulations or something?

May be a contractual obligation with their sponsors that they have to "take part" in every session?
So that (if) when lawyers get involved Ginetta have covered themselves? |
