2018 Pirelli World Challenge Rounds 8 & 9: Mosport

After three weeks off, Pirelli World Challenge is back in action this week, as the GT and GTS classes head north of the border to Mosport AKA Canadian Tire Motorsport Park.

Unlike last year, Mosport will be a Sprint round in 2018, with all races running the classic PWC 50 minute length.

Mosport is the home track to several teams and drivers in the series, including R. Ferri Motorsports, Pfaff Motorsports, Scott Hargrove and Daniel Morad.

Perhaps the biggest question mark heading into Mosport is whether K-PAX has been able to repair a Bentley for Alvaro Parente in the three weeks since his #9 Continental was shoved into a heavy crash by the Lonestar Mercedes at VIR.

No entry list has yet been released for the event.

The entry list came out this afternoon!

The last I heard at VIR was that another ex-Absolute Racing Bentley had been sourced in Asia for Alvaro, and/or there is another chassis in Germany that has yet to be built up as a racecar!

They're still going to have separate races for only 10 GT cars?

Wet weather really shook up GT qualifying. Daniel Morad took pole.

If the race runs in dry weather it will be interesting to see if the Ferraris and Bentleys can come through the field.

Heavy fog has rolled in at Mosport. Race start is on delay.

We’re under a 15-minute delay due to the lack of visibility from the fog. #PWCCTMP

The GT/GTA race is now re-scheduled for 4.05 pm, and the GTS/GTSA race is re-scheduled for 5.50 pm, weather permitting! The visibility is definitely improving!

Great race. Drying conditions really made it interesting, heck of a drive by Daniel Morad. Also cool to see Parente charging through the last few laps on dry tires. He starts on pole tomorrow.

Aschenbach did a better job of hiding the pace of the Camaro in race 2.
He didn't win by a big margin, but it was clear that He was in total control of the race the entire time. Of course I'm sure as always the Camaro is still heavily disadvantaged by the unfair BOP, it was just his superior driving that made it look like the big camaro was way quicker than the other cars.
