Dan the Man. Congratulations to Ocon, Hulkenberg and Sirotkin though. It was such as shame about Sirotkin's penalty because I would have loved to see Team Willie get a slightly more respectable result.
On the subject of Williams, this race must be the final race in Lance Stroll's coffin. I thought he was out of his depth from day one, then wobbled a bit in the middle of last year on the back of his Baku result, but he's done absolutely nothing since. I'm sure Claire and Frank would far rather have Sirotkin and Kubica in their cars, but until Daddy Stroll realises that he's throwing good money after bad, that sadly won't happen. |

I'm surprised no one else voted for Max? he was the only one to even attempt to pass another car beyond lap one. and none of the cars he did pass were 25% down on power.
Sure, great drive from Daniel with a car like that, but on any other track he would've dropped right down the order regardless, right? (not saying the drive was easy for him) |

Max did those 2 early passes, both he was lucky the driver ahead allowed him to have it. But after that he didn't really do that much, his pace mid race wasn't that great and he dropped a couple secs behind the cars ahead of him, can't even remember who it was at the time maybe Alonso. If it weren't for Alonso DNF'ing and Sainz and Hartley holding up the pack to allow him to stop ahead of them, Max would never have got points. But last to 9th isn't bad and his flap was pretty good!

Has to be Ricciardo for keeping his head clear and focused while nursing the problem.
A nod to Alonso for racing well until his car gave up on him. |

That's what makes it a good drive surely? Anywhere else he would have been toast (and probably they'd have retired the car). At Monaco he was able to hold off the cars behind - with the extra power they had you'd have thought that the cars behind would have eventually found a way past but he was quick enough in the right places so could hold on. Mentally it must have been a very draining race for Daniel. |

We saw a good recovery drive though from the back. I still think the best goes to Danny. He probably would have slid down the order elsewhere. I am still surprised Vettel didn't manage to get through, his car was surely that much better, yet Ricciardo used his experience to hang on. I don't know if he could do that again
