Nothing to do with American media, just good journalism. Don't make a claim unless it can be backed up, otherwise it's hearsay, that's my beef.

As it is, we don't definitely know if McLaren are going to be racing in IndyCar next year or not.

Pietro Fittipaldi completed around 100 laps at Mid-Ohio, as he returned to Dale Coyne after his WEC crash at Spa, earlier this year.

I would have thought that will depend, on whether McLaren can improve on this year's results or not. If they slide back to 2016's performance then why not race at Indy again?

I don't think it's about being pretentious or being a big deal but how to deal with more teams and driver wishing to race in the series, particularly drivers from outside of F1, IndyCar and NASCAR, who more than likely haven't raced on ovals.
