Azcona-Comte would be a good pairing
So Zengo will be returning with Kia's

Megane was intended to race in 2018 WTCR, but car was in the top form

And sice there is 32 cars limit and let say all places are full who else can we expect, that's 8 drivers.

-Azcona and Filippi in Campos Cupra
-If Zengo is coming back they will either race Peugeot or Opel
So who else? And what cars they will race?
Riberio pushed to get that Megane ready for 2018 season, maybe they will actually race in WTRC
And beside Peugeot and Opel, I think that only Lada have fully developed car that could race versus anyone.

I never actually beleived that we will have a 32 car grid for full season. It is a limit, but not an obligation. As last year they didn't manage the 26 cars (yes, I know the Maldonado story). And we never knew if 32 is with or without wildcards.
We have 26 cars, if DG are staying, Campos and Zengő too, we could have 32, so maybe I'm wrong.
Cupra is obvious to be Campos if they stay. For DG we have the possibility for private Peugeot, Renault or Opel (which they raced in TCR International), but I doubt that we will see Opel on the WTCR grid. And for Zengő Peugeot remains the solution if Campos stays. If not, Cupra is there too.

In my opinion Campos now has little interest for touring cars. Their main focus will be on F2-F3 and also in the EuroFormula Open where they have to manage a lot of cars...

If they remain I don't expect other than pay drivers. In all the last seasons they've only raced with drivers who brought money.

There's also Filippi who hasn't a seat for 2019...

Yes, Filippi has a good budget, bigger than Homola. I think he will find a seat if he really wants.

Coronel had a bad year in 2018. He needs to improve. I'm starting to think he might be past it.

I'd rather not see John Filippi on the grid. He isn't very good.

His problem was the qualifying, because in terms of race pace he is okay

In a such competitive field qualifying is crucial. For example, last year Giovanardi did great races with a lot of overtakes but he can't finish better than 11th or 12th-13th because of his bad starting position...

Last season the biggest problem of Coronel was in the team. The meddling Boutsen Ginion was not prepared to higher echelons of the sport. At least at Comtoyou he will find a team ready to spend some serious bucks to make him a better player. Please believe that one single positive dream is more important than a thousand negative realities.

I'm with Juntos, Boutsen-Ginion never got that Civic running like All-Inkl. Coronel should do better in a well set-up Leon.

Maybe in Campos alongside Filippi.
Azcona was testing with ComToYou for the last 2 days at Zandvoort in a Cupra just like Panis and Coronel. Azcona was sharing the car with (it looked like) Daniel Haglöf... Can they (ComeToYou) enter 6 cars under different banners?? 2 Audi, 4 Cupra's..?

Wouldn't be surprised to see Filippi switch to a different brand... Alfa? Opel? or Peugeot?

News arose from Alcaniz press today - Eurosport Events signed a contract with Motorland Aragon to host WTCR from 2020 in Spain.

Sounds very strange given that Spain is far from being the key market for WTCR and Cupra doesn't support their teams and drivers so much.

Perhaps that will change, and Seat/Cupra will increase their support?

How is that possible? WTCR is for privateers. François says.

Someone big pretends that manufacturers are not involved. I'm just a great believer!

So who is Alcaniz taking over in the 2020 WTCR calendar?

This story of WTCR = privateers is definitely over! I read a statement of Ribeiro in wich he said that manufacturers are involved with teams. The only real indipendent are Mulsanne with the Giulietta and Zengo (if they will rejoin).

Then we could discuss which manufacturer give more or less support, but that's an other thing

As long as there is fair BoP to discourage development the presence of works teams doesn't really create a problem, does it? If anything money spent on driving talent, is money well spent for the profile of the series and for satisfying fans

Head of motorsport at CUPRA, Jaime Puig, confirms that the two teams running in FIA WTCR / Oscaro this season will be Comtoyou Racing & PWR Racing Team
PWR drivers TBC, but bets are Haglof and Azcona. They both tested few days ago.
