HSCC CADWELL
Familiar as the 'Wolds Trophy', a very popular HSCC event.
If enough support, will also feature two Escort races in addition to the usual grids. |

They do - and HSCC Cadwell is one of the year's highlights for me . There is nowhere nicer to watch racing cars on an English summer day, come rain or shine ....

I had the most bizarre win there many years ago. Historic FF2000 race. Quite happy running around in 5th place then the guy in second went for a gap he took out the leader. Leader spun round took out the third place guy. So I am now running in second, then the guy leading just spun out a lap later and handed me the win. Happy days.

Worth it for FF1600 races alone- the best and purest racing in the UK . And being at my all time favourite venue .
But I do hope the grids are not as thin as in some recent years for other races . I do some work for CSCC (so my interest declared) but their format seems to work far better for cars of similar vintage - with 30 plus grids being very common , and not the 12-18 typically found at HSCC . Odd ... |

Only one entrant for the Escort race, I understand. He will be included with the Historic Touring Cars.

Well on a positive note it should be interesting to see the Guards Trophy cars at Cadwell.
And a relatively early finish on Sunday will be enjoyed by some so long as events of the day do not cause any slippage of the timetable. |

If it finishes on time I might be able to decamp and get home in the light. |

Same distance for me and my last 2 visits to the Wolds meeting ended up with a marathon drive back on Sunday so this year I'm staying over Sunday night as well. HSCC, Cadwell Park, June - glorious circuit, best in the UK for spectating

Just 150 miles for me , but staying over Friday and Saturday nights locally to ensure I miss nothing ...some time at Hall Bends for qualifying, and Mountain and ..err...Coppice for races . I plan to bag my usual pole position parking slot at foot of Mountain bright and early . Nowhere nicer than Cadwell on a summer day ,and much as I enjoyed Members' Meeting , and will enjoy Silverstone Classic , neither is as nice as the Lincolnshire Wolds finest . |

Indeed - but dear oh dear the Guards Trophy entry is embarrassing . And in recent years we have had double heat FF1600 - and the entry is good but not as good as in recent years. Why is that , when other classes - FF2000 for one - are on the up ? Or is that the reason ?

Would have been OK with about 12 entries (given the constraints) in my opinion. And a bit more variety I suppose. |
