Would have liked to see them try but no need to be so aggressive. |

What a fantastic race. Mercedes threw the kitchen sink at Leclerc and he still managed to win.
What a marker to put down. |

Well done LeClerc. Still don't understand what Ferrari did to turn things around. Also great drives from Bottas and Ham plus Ric.
Did Lando get his point? |

I added up all of Vettel's finishing positions for each season in F1. They come to 44. If we add the 1 from F1, will that be a P45 at the end of the season?

Hmm,
He seems to be like the tyres, dropped off the cliff. Would rather see him retire than be sacked. |

Actually a good race but not sure why Charles got a black and white flag and a warning then left the track and returned but got nothing for that, however he deserved that win to be honest

I think Ferrari have always had good straight line speed.... the Spa and Monza result may be more track related / suiting than Ferrari updates Peter. Just a hunch. See if it is normal service resumed at Singapore, which is not so much a straight line speed benefit circuit.

It's the consequence of the outspoken desire of many F1 followers to let them race. Just pushing people of the track then becomes an option. A bit rougher than I personally prefer, but if it is applied consistently I suppose over a season it could be viewed as fair and interesting racing. About the race: Very enjoyable. I can only imagine how fantastic the Monza race will be with 2021 aero and DRS removed or strongly reduced. That will be something to witness! |

the tracks with the longest time of full throttle are Spa and Monza(70%) they probably won't be as fast in Singapore(with 44% one of the slowest tracks) Last edited by steve nielsen; 8 Sep 2019 at 19:25. |

Don’t understand the highlighted sentence above though. Where was the stewards bias towards Hamilton. What did I miss? |

And Vettel got a penalty whereas Leclerc got a warning, so they favoured Hamilton. It makes perfect sense.

It’s simple enough I think. Look at it from the stewards’ point of view. It’s the Italian GP. You’ve already dished out a hefty penalty to the No 2 Ferrari driver for some pretty crass driving. Do you really think you could penalise the No 1 driver while leading, and leave the circuit alive?

The new approach of being more lenient could become a problem if all drivers now think they can make one aggressive defence and get their customary black and white flag warning. That would rely on the stewards being consistent, however.
