Regarding seats already in place it does seem like a lot of the big names are confirmed but I'm interested in where the Laser and HMS TBLs end up. Plus what happens with Simpson if he really is pulling out. Apparently Boardley will definitely be on the grid and definitely with a different team...

dynamics trucks go back to the integra days, pretty sure one of them was owned by rob collard when he ran the astra, some of the tractor units in the paddock are well over 10 years old, alan gow's bus/toca centre is approaching 20... the teams that have been constant for 10 plus years rarely change rigs as they dont do the mileage compared to trucks in commercial use. a truck owned by say stobart will do more miles in 2 weeks than a btcc/race rig does in a year

It's been an International C license as a minimum for a while (which is not that hard to get) but I do remember there being talk about a special BTCC driving license as well but it might just have been confusion over the TBL rumours at the time.

Found this line regarding substitute drivers. Presumably it applies to drivers who aren't substitutes as well? - " Substitute drivers must have completed at least 300km of testing in an NGTC car unless they are acknowledged by TOCA as having extensive experience driving a touring car or are a driver of high repute."

Previous series was run by Renault UK (who sell the road cars), the new series is run by Renault Sport Racing (French based race car division). New car is a 1.3l turbo
