Here is a good Mc Laren recipe: 1. Make your 2nd driver jump the start in order to get ahead of MS 2. Then make him try to either block MS to let the first driver get through or even better to run MS off the race ( you may say I'm a bit cynical but both nearly happened!!!).

DC jumpstarting was a bad mistake, a little unprofessional I think.
Blocking TGF afterwards was good team tactics (Ferrari would have done the same had the situation been reversed), and I actually was a little surprised DC didn't take him off, his race was ruined anyway, and he could always have said it was unintentional and that he made a mistake. You're right, CS, it very nearly happened. Now TGF is 8 points in front. Had DC taken him off, Mika would still have been 2 points in front. |

Since you're fairly new, I'd better point out that TGF equals M. Schumacher around here! Welcome BTW!

I don't know if anyone else has pointed out the irony of McLaren holding up Schumacher, but then the McLaren was held up by the Minardi. There is justice in this world...

DC had a great opportunity to take out Schumi when he exited from one of his stops. MS was turning into turn 1 and DC could so easily have missed his braking and taken them both out.
I think DC has his limits though. He will blatantly block to help his team mate but I don't think he would ever deliberately take off another driver. |

You're probably right, wodonnell, if he was capable of it, he certainly would have done it on Sunday with those opportunities.
A decent and honest driver, DC. |

I basicly think DC is a fair guy who has been a little frustrated at Schumacher's blocking tactics in the past and who relishes the opportunity to frustrate MS in return.
I have wondered about whether the false start was deliberate. |

When he made one of his pitstops he started to creep forwards before he should.
It looked like he probably had a problem with his clutch. |

Deliberate false start? Hmmmmm. Like in American football; try to draw the opposite team offsides into a penalty. Let see DC's championship hope's over but if he could draw TGF into a jumpstart they would BOTH have 10 second s/g penalties. It would matter much to DC other than maybe an end of the year bonus. After watching all the blocking could it be that farfetched? Yea, probably.

I'd definitely say that it must have been a clutch problem, as wodonnell stated earlier; the car was moving forward even in the fuel stop - as the fuel was still going in! There's no way you could call that intentional.
As for the blocking / crashing / taking out conspiracy theories, yes, DC is well above Schumacher's levels in terms of 'cleanliness' of racing. He'd never do such a thing, whereas we all know too well that Michael isn't afraid of jeopardising his life for the sake of a few points. I guess, come the Asian rounds of the Championship, we'll find out, won't we? |

Abreviation's
This thread is classic DC MS TGF. ?
One thing that puts others off joining new forums etc. Is when only the regulars have a clue what all the abreviations mean perhaps you ought to have a glossary What does tgf stand for anyway . Only thing I can think of is That German F***er Sorry if that offends but thats the only thing I see . There's nothing wrong with using the intial's but if two drivers had the same then it would get confusing. Do any drivers have the same initials ? |

After he started to move, he slowed down, before taking off. If he wanted to make a false start to get in front of Schumacher, he wouldn't have slowed down. |

When was the last time you heard someone say 'JV' and have them referring to Jos Verstappen? Likewise 'MS' for Mika Salo? To save some confusion, at least over Schumacher and Salo, just call Michael 'Arse' - that's a much more apt name for him...
