bathurst77 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
The future of VA Supercars?

So what will a "supercar" be in 2022 and beyond?

The commodore will be gone, and tho holden or chev may sell camaros, they will be in very small numbers. And with holden in financial strife with no appropriate road car to promote, they may well pull out. They wont be allowed to race old commodore panels, and wont spend any money developing anything else.

With no holden, will ford stick around? sales of mustang are dwindling as the market is saturated. At least the mustang shape can continue to race for a bit longer, but possibly no factory support.

So will we see older privateer mustangs race against.... what else? what engines? what panels?

Meanwhile the TCR circus is getting its act together nicely, with many different makes, actual car bodies and a good fta package with very tasty supports

Thoughts?

The startling lack of commentary on the part of the promoters seems to indicate they are still trying to work that out. That they do not appear to have a business plan or some sort of strategy to deal with what to others seemed to be obvious is nothing short of bizarre. How much are these people paid?

Supercars don't appear to have a 5 year plan or 10 year plan, which must be alarming for competitors and fans.

The next plan will come from a Speedcafe poll.

They can always go the Turismo Carretera route like in Argentina and race the old body shapes.

I think Supercars is in a tough spot right now as the Australian built cars they created the series around no longer exist, so I think it's a hard thing to decide what to do now.

Yes Supercars is turning into an expensive sports car series with all the big money overseas outfits buying up the teams.
To be honest the racings getting boring too.

Supercars days are very much numbered, they have painted themselves into a corner and there is no return from it - just look at how the TCR series is gaining fan momentum

Yep TCR it seems is growing as fast as VASC is declining and disappearing up its own orifice.
