Frederik Vesti won "just" one of four races of the Formula Regional European Championship at Imola, but keeps a decent gap over rivals.
Oscar Piastri dominated the Formula Renault Eurocup at Nürburgring. This weekend they will race at Hungaroring. |

Also this weekend, the Euroformula Open will race at Silverstone, and the F3 Asian Championship at Shanghai.

Be interesting to see how he does.
I’m no fan but I wonder why he got bummed out of RB. They were moaning that he should have a super licence and then got rid of him at very short notice. |

Didn't he get bombed out because his whole approach to racing in Japan was a bit half arsed and the results naturally were a tad disappointing? Anyway, that being said, if he isn't wiping the floor with Floersch by the end of this weekend i would be surprised, he isn't my cup of tea but he isn't without talent. If he can mix it with the Prema cars first time out that would certainly be a positive start to repairing the damage of the Super Formula experiment.

This weeken, both the Euroformula Open and Formula Regional European Championship will compete at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya at Montmeló.
This will allow to compare them directly. |

Point is one has half a grid. And the other only 40% of a grid. Despite cheap deals to fill unwanted seats.

The Euroformula Open cars are clearly faster than at the Formula Regional European Championship (1'36.4 versus 1'40.8).

Today i will do something thats rarely seen from me. I will post a positive message.
Anyone watch the opening round of the new Euroformula season? I thought the new car looked horrendous in the initial renders but the physical version looks really great AND they kept the NA 4 cylinder engine & "proper F3" airbox. Shame there were only 13 cars on the grid but considering the COVID impact, numerous series racing on the same day and cost of the new car id say thats actually not too bad. Races were pretty poor BUT you expect that around Hungaroring. |

It appears there are plans to split F2 & F3 so that only one series runs on a GP weekend but to hold 3 races instead of the usual 2. I’m really upset, best part of the F1 weekend is waking up on a Sunday morning and watching the support races. Everything in the world is changing and I can’t deal with it Why can’t they just leave things alone?

I watched F3 and F2 before I watch F1. F1 is such a slog of boredom most of the time, but the lower tiers are always great to watch.

I know it's no help to you, but in the UK both series & the Porsche Supercup are shown as part of the Sky Sports F1 coverage.
There was some good stuff this weekend with the round the outside overtakes at the first turn, even if they were DRS assisted. |
