First time I have missed a Combe Classic
Thanks brands. Might just be my ancient computer but I can't open the page to get the entries for some reason. Will have to rely on commentary if there is one.

That's a fantastic entry ... shame about the weather, but hope everyone has a good weekend despite dampness...

Some not going!
No point in speedboat racing with those grass run offs.

Castle Combe Autumn Classic 2016

For those who have forgotten how wet 2016 was, here is a little reminder. Looking at the forecast this weekend it looks like it could be a repeat....

Castle Combe Autumn Classic 2016

Driver of the Day for me was Sam Stretton who not only won the VSCC Pre War Sports Car race but also put on a spectacular display in the Jon Gross Memorial Trophy.

Should have sold the pics to Bonhams when the car was sold in Paris!

It’s now in Belgium

I bought it back from States in 2000. Only LHD Alta

Originally sold by Alta to Germany in 1938.

Spectator entrance is indeed Quarry, but you may view from there in a clockwise direction all the way to Camp. No viewing from Camp to Avon Rise and no paddock entry. Just glad we can get in !

Yep, can't believe it was 4 years ago. The fact that it was a left hooker made it even worse for Sam given where the water lay and his line through it; he looked as though he'd been for a swim fully clothed at the end of the JGMR. It was indeed a good drive!

Thoroughly enjoyable day's racing. Weather not quite as awful as forecast. Hope to dry out by midweek.

I wimped out today but am determined to be there tomorrow. Are the car parks still useable after all the rain?

Start delayed due to weather. Next update after 11.00 on CC Facebook page. Real pity after all the efforts by the circuit and after such a stellar entry.

Feel gutted for the competitors in particular, I had planned to go but cancelled at the last minute.

Combe have had nothing but bad luck this season and their Classic has suffered poor weather in recent years.

Hoping they can survive.
