Mr. Bauble, Sir. Posts 5322 and 5324 are fantastic! Bet you knew I'd say that where any F5000 is concerned! But I have raced both 500s and 5000s!

The half-litre cars are very much my era, Jim Russell was great driver, and a good bloke to talk to, with a wicked sense of humour. Amongst my favourites were Ian Raby, David Boshier-Jones, Mike Keen, Ivor the Driver, and Jack Lewis. Best racing you ever saw, a pack of 500's heading into paddock on a Bank Holiday Brands Meeting, 100 miles race at Silverstone, Eric Brandon, Les Leston, Reg Bicknell, with a Doppler effect background. I must go and lie down for a while. |

My first real girlfriend was Don Gray's daughter! He gave me a wooden plug box containing soft, normal and hard plugs from his 500 for use in my F1300 in 1977! Never used them in that but did in the Gold Star-engined Cooper 500 in 1980 and still have the box!

Love the last two sets Bob.... beautiful cars (captured beautifully of course!)
I spent yesterday at Phillip Island for the "Island Magic" meeting, and took a few out of focus relatively average photos of HTC's whilst there... |

Yet more.... and not seen many photos here of an R/T Charger, let alone Holden Toranas.
FYI the Valiant Charger R/T is no relation to the Dodge Charger.... well it is, but not simply a badge change. The Valiant Charger R/T was a unique to Aus 'Muscle' Car. Made in the Chrysler factory in South Australia the R/T (stands for Road/Track) was a very limited production (149 to be exact) special. The Valiant Charger R/T featured a 4.3-liter straight-six engine with triple Webers, that delivered 302 horsepower to the rear wheels offthe factory floor. And sound gorgeous. Now super rare and valuable an 'original' (ie rusty and tired inside) sold recently for $395,000 Last edited by E.B; 28 Nov 2021 at 05:58. Reason: Added the bit about the Aussie Charger. |

Nice pics and interesting info, thanks. 211k £ for a car produced at 149 samples not a bargain but reflects the market imo. Rare = expensive, it's always been the case even with Yank tanks, like genuine SS's or Z28's or HemiCudas.
Is that a Mirafiori aka Merda Fleurie in good language?? |

Yep, Mirafiori or 131 same car, full name was 131 Mirafiori. Rare wagon version was Panorama, utilitaire was Marengo…
